My wife and I made our first trip to Tuscany this month and reserved a wine tasting here via their website. We signed up for the private tuscan lunch tasting and got quick replies from the hosts with our reservation time, directions and contact info for any problems. We drove ourselves there and were met in the parking lot by the owner. He led us into his tasting room and we were surprised that it was in fact completely private! Just the 2 of us with the owner, going over all the wines and some food. He gave us a quick lesson in tasting, talked about each wine briefly and gave us some time to sip and enjoy. The 'tuscan lunch' was in fact a 3 mini-course meal matched to the wine, all cooked in the kitchen next door using his grandmother's recipes - a lot more food than we were expecting. Each tasting was generous and we were able to taste any again. In all we tasted 10+ wines, their balsamic vinegar, their olive oils, meats and cheeses, vegetable stew, lasagna and biscotti -- everything was amazing! The recipes are on his website -- we will definitely be copying those for the future. They did not rush us, let us pick our own pace, relax, eat and drink. We will remember this for a long time and plan on coming back whenever we return to Tuscany.

Our wonderful personal Tour Guide Mauro took us to this fantastic Wine tasting school and Vinyard for lunch.

We were met and greeted by the owner, Pierluigi, himself, who is an extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. We were then taken to a lovely little cellar, where a table had been set with a fantastic Antipasto board for my husband and myself, along with 10 glasses each!!!!

Pretty soon we were being poured all these amazing wines to taste (10 in total) with the different types of food, and asked to rate them according to preference. Even though we are not connoisseurs, Pierluigi explained things simply to us which allowed us to learn more about wine than we could have imagined. His passion and that of his family is evident in both the food and wine.

Pierluigi's mother makes THE BEST lasagne and ribollita (Tuscan bread and vegetable dish) we had ever tasted and is definitely worth the visit for that alone!!!!!!!

I was sad that I did not get an opportunity to do one of their cooking courses as I leanrt about it too late, but I will definitely go back there for that alone, (and of course another bowl of the Ribollita :)

This was a real taste of Tuscany, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

"Kind of a long story: We went to a wine tasting at Torciano about 3 years
ago and had a great time (though I have yet to receive my discount code) and
I have been ordering wine ever since. We were there with a Perrillo Tours
group. We had so much fun: it was a beautiful day, the wine was good, the
food was also good and Pierluigi was an accomodating friendly host. I left
that day a fan for life!

Flash forward to this past weekend: My daughter, who is spending the summer
in Rome, is on an agro-tour through the Tuscany Region and where do they
stop? Torciano, of course! She, too, had a great time and loved
everything, especially the Truffle Oil. She also wanted a bottle of
Bartolomeo, but had left her wallet in her room. In any event, she, too, is
now a huge fan!!! Thank you so much for being such a cordial host to my
daughter!"
