The harvest in Torciano Tenuta winery and wine tasting is made with the traditional system that for centuries the family has been using since 13 generations ago. We were fortunate to have our Vineyard in Tuscany, especially Chianti one of the areas that produce wines among the best in the world. And wine connoisseurs will tell you that a good wine is the result of the fruit from which it is produced.

The harvest is done only by hand, picking the best bunches of grapes. The harvest begins with the white grapes Chardonnay Sauvignon, followed by the Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Trebbiano. Then continue with the harvest of red grapes like Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Sangiovese, and through the Canaiolo.

The grapes are placed in baskets and taken to the cellar for the stripping, which is the separation from the berry raspo. Then we go for white wines, the crushing of the grain in order to facilitate the extraction of tannins and take good that there in the flesh and peel. For red wines, along with the grain must pass in special barrels for the usual fermentation.

After fermentation, the wine is transferred into wooden barrels and French and American barriques for the aging in wood. To use wine-making French and American oak barrels, stainless steel tanks for high quality wines that we are pleased to offer our guests enthusiasts and connoisseurs of fine wine, wine tasting both for private and for organized groups.

The time of maturation in barrel varies depending on the type of wine that we want to have.

After this stage there with microfiltratura bottling and bottle aging.
