Alcohol: 12%

Format: 750ml

Type: Red Still Wine

Serving Temperature: 16/18 °C

Wine Description:

Obtained from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes, this wine has got a garnet red colour and a pronounced, vinous nose with herbaceous scents. Dry, full-bodied and rather tannic, it is one of the wine that goes best with poultry and red meat, with game, roasted meat and aged cheese. Excellent for ageing.

For the whole meal, perfectly blends with stuffed pasta typical of the Tuscan tradition.

Wine Cellar:

Tenuta Torciano Winery is situated in the heart of Tuscany, 35 minutes from Florence and 20 minutes from Siena, surrounded by beautiful rolling hills and a succession of unique greenery that features towering cypress trees, long stretches of beautiful vineyards, olive groves, forests of oaks and lovely villages.

When you visit Tenuta Torciano Winery, you will totally immerse yourself in Italian culture, together with a Tuscan family consisting of 13 generations of wine producers. Here you will experience warm hospitality and additional Tuscan traditions handed down from father to son.

Area of Production:

Cabernet is mostly planted in the far northeast of Italy, particularly in Friuli, but it is also found in the wines of the Veneto. Italians wines often labeled simply as "Cabernet" tend to be primarily Cabernet Franc or a blend of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Cabernet can adapt to a wide variety of vineyard soil types but seems to thrive in sandy, chalk soils, producing heavier, more full bodied wines.

Grapes:

Cabernet Franc is a black-skinned French wine grape variety grown in most wine producing nations. Outside France, Cabernet Franc is grown in Italy, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and the Americas. Its varietal wines are light to medium bodied and often show vegetal characteristics, in particular green bell peppers.

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It has a large number of common blending partners, such as Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.
