Three red Montalcino wines
Tenuta Torciano | Bartolomeo Rosso IGT 2017 The Sangiovese, from the Latin "Sangius jovis", is the predominant grape-variety in this wine and the calm, elegant characteristics of the Cabernet give this wine ample olfactory complexity and greater strength to both body and flavor. The color is deep ruby red, tending to garnet with age. With a dry, full and smooth flavor, rich with personality and well structured, complete and elegant, with an evidently aristocratic character; hints of wood can be perceived amidst the typical herbaceous notes.
Podere Le Ripi | Rosso IGT 2019 Slim and linear in the mouth, very good drinkability, at the nose, very fruit-forward, typical of the 2019 harvest. Deep red with light purple shadows. Great minerality, a slight bitterness develops as an after-taste. Serve with roast meat, aged cheeses and pasta. Serving temperature from 16° to 18°C. Aged 15 month in concrete vats and with a fermentation and maceration for 25 days in open oak barrels. 50% Syrah, 50% Sangiovese
Tenuta Torciano | Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2016 The characteristics of the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano are those typical of Sangiovese "prugnolo gentile" its basic grape variety. The intense color, the complexity of the aromas with fruity olfactory notes of plum made more complex by the long periods of aging, which add tertiary sensations of vanilla, licorice and tobacco. The traditional tannins of Sangiovese and the always welcome residual freshness note are softened by the softness induced by aging and the decidedly full structure of this wine. Excellent with pasta served with tasty meat sauce, finely cut roasted meat, carpaccio and pecorino cheese.
