The first stop will be a prestigious winery in Tuscany where we will visit the historic cellars and taste typical wines and olive oil sample. Next stop is the charming town of Montalcino, where we can enjoy lunch in a typical Tuscan restaurant and then you can enjoy some free time to explore the town’s narrow winding streets filled with artisan food and wine shops. No visit would be complete without a look at the fourteenth-century Montalcino’s famous fortress. Later we will visit another top rated Brunello winery where we can compare styles while learning more about this excellent wine. Brunello was developed by Ferruccio Biondi Santi a little more than a century ago, and almost immediately drew the attention of connoisseurs for its excellence. Brunello is produced exclusively within the Montalcino territory, and only from Sangioveto Grosso grapes, a Sangiovese clone perfectly suited to local conditions. Before release, Brunello must be aged for four years, at least two of which must be in wooden casks.
