Ingredients
- 240 ml dry red wine
- 240 ml extra virgin olive oil
- 200 g sugar (plus extra for coating)
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon anise seeds
- 1 pinch of salt
Instructions
Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, anise seeds, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
Gradually add the olive oil and red wine, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Shape the Biscuits
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Take small portions of dough and roll them into logs about 1–2 cm thick.
Join the ends to form a ring shape and gently press to seal.
Coat and Arrange
Dip one side of each biscuit into sugar.
Place them sugar-side up on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Bake
Bake for 25–30 minutes, until lightly golden and crisp.
Cool and Serve
Allow the biscuits to cool completely before serving.
Store in an airtight container to keep them crisp and aromatic.
