Ingredients
- 1 panettone (about 750 g)
- 450 g mascarpone cheese
- Zest of 2 oranges (preferably organic)
- 1 cup espresso coffee, cooled
- 160–180 g sugar
- 60 g chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons orange liqueur
- White chocolate, for decoration
- Maraschino cherries, for garnish
Instructions
Prepare the Panettone
Slice off the top and bottom of the panettone carefully and set them aside.
Hollow out the center of the panettone using a knife, creating a cylindrical shell and a solid inner portion.
Cut the inner portion into 3–4 horizontal layers.
Prepare the Cream
In a bowl, beat the mascarpone with the sugar, orange zest, and orange liqueur until smooth and creamy.
Assemble the Cake
Place the base of the panettone on a serving plate and reassemble the outer shell.
Spread a layer of mascarpone cream inside, sprinkle with chocolate chips, and add a layer of panettone.
Lightly soak the layer with espresso.
Repeat the layers (cream, chocolate chips, panettone, coffee) until all ingredients are used, finishing with cream on top.
Chill
Place the top back on the panettone, wrap in cling film, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours to set.
Decorate and Serve
Before serving, decorate with grated white chocolate, orange slices, and maraschino cherries.
Slice and serve chilled for a rich and festive dessert.
