Instructions
Prepare the Vegetables
Clean and wash the green beans, then boil them in salted water until tender. Drain and sauté in a pan with extra virgin olive oil and garlic. Season with salt and set aside.
Prepare the Mashed Potatoes
Boil the potatoes in salted water until soft. Peel and mash them using a potato masher. Add butter, milk, salt, and a pinch of nutmeg. Mix well in a saucepan over low heat until creamy.
Cook the Meat
Bring the meat to room temperature before cooking. Heat a grill or pan until very hot, then cook the steak for about 5–6 minutes on one side, turn, and cook the other side for another 5–6 minutes.
If you prefer well-done meat, cook for up to 8–10 minutes total, being careful not to overcook it.
Finish
Once cooked, transfer the meat to a plate and season with extra virgin olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
Serve
Serve the steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. Pair with a full-bodied red wine such as Bartolomeo Super Tuscan.
