Ingredients
For the Dish
- 4 sausages
- 250 g cannellini beans (cooked or canned)
- 800 g tomato sauce
- 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- Fresh sage
- Chili (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
Prepare the Beans
If using dried beans, soak them overnight and cook for about 1 hour. Alternatively, use canned beans for a quicker preparation.
Cook the Sausages
Heat extra virgin olive oil in a pan and cook the sausages for about 10 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
Prepare the Base
In the same pan, sauté garlic and sage. Season with salt, pepper, and optional chili.
Combine Ingredients
Add the beans, tomato sauce, and sausages back into the pan. Stir well.
Simmer
Cook for about 30 minutes over medium heat, adding a little water if needed. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Serve
Serve hot with Tuscan bread.
