Ingredients
- 2 cups (400 g) tomato sauce
- 2 cups (400 g) spaghetti
- 2 cups (400 g) ground beef
- 1 onion
- 1 potato, boiled and peeled
- 1 egg
- All-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- Fresh parsley
- Fresh basil
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Prepare the Meatballs
Finely chop the onion and parsley.
In a bowl, combine the chopped mixture with the ground beef, egg, and boiled potato.
Season with salt and pepper, then shape into small meatballs (about walnut-sized).
Lightly flour the meatballs.
Cook the Sauce
Heat olive oil in a pan and fry the meatballs until golden on all sides.
Add the tomato sauce and tomato paste, along with basil leaves.
Season with salt and pepper and simmer until the sauce thickens.
Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti until al dente.
Drain and transfer the pasta to the pan with the sauce and meatballs.
Toss everything together for about 1 minute.
Serve
Serve hot with freshly chopped basil.
Optionally, top with grated Parmesan cheese.
