Crema Catalana

Crema Catalana is a dessert easy to prepare and delicious. The ingredients of this tasty recipe are simple and genuine. At the end of a dinner party or lunch with the family, amaze your guests with this delicious sweet.

Ingredients

  • Milk: 2 cups;
  • Egg: 4 yolks;
  • Sugar: ½ cup;
  • Corn flour: 2 tablespoons ( cornstarch );
  • Cinnamon stick: 1;
  • Lemon: l peel;
  • Brown sugar: 2 tablespoons;
  • Nutmeg: to taste.
  • Difficulty: medium
     
  • Preparation: 4,30 h

 

Procedure:

Put the milk in a saucepan with lemon zest and a cinnamon stick and bring to a boil. Let simmer flavored milk for 10 minutes. In a bowl beat the egg yolks with the sugar and cornstarch.

Strain the milk and discard the spices, add the eggs now. Mix everything until the combine.
Now put the mixture into a pan and cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour the cream into 4 ramekins bass from oven, let cool and store in the fridge for at least 4 hours.

When ready to serve at the table , sprinkle the Crema Catalana with brown sugar and a sprinkling of nutmeg. Put the ramekins in the oven under the hot grill for a few minutes, until the sugar is caramelized on the surface.
