You may not be familiar with Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, but you should be. Despite its long name, it makes delicious wines filled with preserved red cherry flavors. The wines of Tuscany's Vino Nobile di Montepulciano enjoy a storied history dating back to the 8th Century. Receiving praise from Popes and poets as “the king of wines”, it is no wonder it was one of the first regions in Italy given DOCG status. The wine is similar to the nearby Chianti Classico, but it tends to be a little fuller and higher in alcohol. It typically showcases lots of red cherry jam and forest floor.

Nobile di Montepulciano "Terresolatie" DOCG : From the Sangiovese Prugnolo Gentile vineyards, one bottle per plant, it ferments in wood and ages in large and small oak barrels for 18 months to then refine at least 6 months in the bottle. With impressive freshness and acidity in 2017, this wine’s red-cherry flavors are fleshy and ripe, tinged with notes of orange peel and cinched by taut, chalky tannins.
Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva : Ruby red in color tending toward garnet, this wine offers fine, elegant aromas of preserved black cherries, white pepper, jam and tobacco. On the palate, it is both full-bodied and intense as well as harmonious with velvety tannins. The fruit is ripe, succulent and redolent of the warm summers of this part of beautiful Tuscany with its open fields and hot winds. Pair with game, roasts and seasoned pecorino cheese.
