If using fresh beans, boil them for about 40 minutes until tender. If using dried beans, soak them first, then cook for about 2 hours until soft. Drain well and allow them to cool completely.
In a large bowl, combine the chopped onions with the flaked tuna.
Add the cooled beans and mix gently.
Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Serve at room temperature for the best flavor.
