Procedure:
Combine the basil with the pine nuts, cheese, garlic cloves, and salt in a blender or food processor.
Blend continuously until the ingredients are finely chopped. With the blender running, stream in the olive oil, continue blending as needed until the olive oil is emulsified into the basil and the pesto looks uniform.
Taste the pesto and add more salt, garlic, nuts or cheese as needed to taste. In a large pot bring salted water to a boil, when it boils, add the pasta.
When the pasta is cooked, drain the pasta and add the pesto.
Garnish with a basil leaf.
