Easy, fast and appetizing: these are the characteristics of pizzaiola-style meat. A traditional and very simple recipe, which includes slices of beef (or veal), cooked in a pan with tomato. The Mediterranean ingredients are the same as marinara pizza and probably the pizzaiola meat is so called for this reason.

We have enriched the dish with capers and mozzarella making it even more appetizing. The result is a second course with a very easy and quick recipe, very tasty, perfect for daily meals and family dinners. Pizzaiola meat is always very good and very appreciated especially by children.

Method:

To prepare the pizzaiola meat, first pour the extra virgin olive oil in a pan. Flour the beef slices and add them into the pan, cook at low heat until they become gold.

Add the tomato pulp, cappers, oregano, adjust salt and pepper, and cover the slices of meat with the sauce.

Cover with a lid and cook for a few minutes (3-4 minutes will be enough), turning the slices halfway through cooking. Remove the pan from the heat, add the mozzarella slices on the top and let it melt.

Decorate with the basil leaves. Once ready, you just have to serve your pizzaiola meat!

 

 

Ingredients (2 servings):

  • 2 slices of beef (pork or chicken)

  • 1 cup (200 g) tomato pulp

  •  โ€‹1⁄4 cup of capers

  • 1 mozzarella

  • extra virgin olive oil

  • salt and pepper to taste

  • oregano

  • basil

  • Difficulty: easy

  • Preparation: 10 min

  • Cooking: 20 min
