Bolgheri is an Italian appellation located in the Maremma on the Tuscan coast just to the south of Livorno. It is known mainly for deeply coloured, supple yet ageworthy red wines, usually based on the Bordeaux grape varieties. The winemaking zone features sloping coastal vineyards close to the Tyrrhenian Sea. The sunny, dry and windy climate of Bolgheri and the stony soils with clayey patches also favor the production of excellent white wines, based on Vermentino and Viogner grapes.
Bolgheri Bianco "Luciana" DOC 2022 - A fantastic white wine that comes from a blend of 70% Vermentino and 30% Viogner. Product obtained from the pressing of the grapes, it is refrigerated to carry out a natural decantation of the must, with subsequent racking and alcoholic fermentation with selected yeasts at a controlled temperature. Aging for 4 months in steel and three months in the bottle, it is a white wine with a straw yellow color with greenish reflections, an intense and complex aroma of fresh white pulp fruits such as banana and pear. On the finish there are notes of clumps and yellow fruit, important fresh floral hints such as white thorn and mulberry. The taste is harmonious, fresh and savory with a hint of mineral and a good persistence.
Bolgheri Rosso "Gioiello" DOC 2020 - Bolgheri red wine is characterized by an intense ruby red color, enriched by violet reflections. The bouquet has intense fruity scents, with evident hints of blackberry and blueberry and light spicy nuances of leather and tobacco. In the mouth is a wine of great structure, with tannins present but soft and velvety and excellent persistence. Perfect to accompany red meats, it is ideal in combination with the traditional Florentine steak. Excellent also with aged cheeses. The prime quality and structure of this wine demand excellent first courses and risottos with sauces made from wild boar and hare, tasty red meat dishes such as roast game, vegetable soufflé and spicy mature cheeses.
