Wine Description:

Our Terrestre, forming part of the line of Super-Tuscan Fine Wines linked to the great territory of our region, has proved to be a great success and has received an award at Vinitaly in Verona last April. This is a clone of the first grape tuscany, mother of great Brunello. The land has a musky smell with sweet notes of dried leaves, characteristics of the tuscan woods. The scent of vanilla derives from the first quality used for aging and the famous land of Montalcino, the quality of which exalt the natural scents. Recommend it with the pasta with a sauce made from red meat or in conjunction with roast meat.

Area of Production:

Located in central Italy along the Tyrrhenian coast, Tuscany is home to some of the world's most notable wine regions. Toscana IGT is the most famous – and the most commonly used – of Italy's Indicazione Geografica Tipica (IGT) titles. The geographical region it indicates is, in short, Tuscany.

Toscana IGT wines can be made in any village in any of Tuscany's 10 provinces.

Grapes:

This wine is produced with a blend of 5 different grapes, all cultivated in Tuscany. But what about “Super Tuscans”? In the 1970s, Tuscan wine producers began to experiment with foreign grape varietals, such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. By combining these with the Sangiovese grape, they created Super Tuscan wines, an unofficial category of Tuscan wines that is not recognized within the Italian wine classification system.

2004 Vintage:

The 2004 vintage, in Tuscany, it was one of the best in the last years. It rained a lot, between the middle of January and May and the rain is kept constant for the whole year. The subsoil and was thus able to have the sufficient amount of water to overcome the summer months with the warm. Also, the temperatures of the spring, with days myths, has helped in bringing forth great grapes in this 2004 season. There has been drought throughout the summer and the temperatures were not excessively high, reaching a peak of 25 degrees in August. The grapes have reached maturity in September reaching a balance of quality, from which they were born great wines born for prolonged aging .
