Chianti Wines

“If Tuscany deserves to be described as the most picturesque regions of Italy, Chianti is imposed by far as the most Italian wines”.

Chianti is a wine with ancient origins, but it was only in Medieval times that Chianti wine began to be identified. Chianti wine is mentioned by a trader, Francesco Datino of Prato (1393-1410), in his mercantile letters. Following the intensification of commerce and exportation in the 1600's this wine became internationally famous. The grapes used to make this wine are grown in vineyards which produce 7.000 kg of grapes per hectare and are cultivated using the Guillot method.

The black rooster has been a symbol of power, victory, and pride for the Florentines since the 1200s, since that time, the black rooster has become a well-known symbol for great quality wine and Florentine victory over Siena.

Today the name “Chianti” is a guarantee of noble wine, produced according to strict laws that protect the quality standard and with it the sensory characteristics.
